I came across this new Vertical Job Search Engine Today. JobGeni http://www.jobgeni.com - Runs on Google AJAX Feed API and gets realtime data from several major jobsites like indeed, simplyhired, yahoo hotjobs, monster and jobster at once.

www.Jobsplay.com already offers much the same functionality as Indeed. In many areas it uses the Indeed API to allow users to find jobs, but the site also allows users to search on Salary for the jobs that are featured in the site.
Most recruiters will give information as to the salary range as this is fundimental information when looking for job posts. On Jobsplay users can set their current salary range so that they aren't bothered by recruiters advertising jobs that are way below their expectations.

hmmm simplyhired.com has $15mil funding where as indeed has only $5mil yet Indeed so much better.

Finally I see some use of crunchbase. (though I still think it takes lot of RE on the page).

salarybase.com already allows you to get a nice big picture on a specific job situation - wonder if these can work together...

A lot of times what a new job is willing to offer depends heavily on what you are currently making more than the position itself. I have known people who hold the same position but one gets paid a lot more than the other

Although I do like Indeed as job posting search engine, I think that this isn't going to be a very useful or efficient feature. Many companies don't post salaries because salary is usually defined by two things - previous experience and the interview process. Especially in the Tech market, there is rarely a time when a specific salary is given because every individual is coming in with a different situation. I think that this will only hurt the validity of the job market - making people want to take jobs purely because of money (or leave their current jobs because they feel "underpaid"), rather than because of what the company is doing or what they will be working on.

i love indeed, it is so useful. I don't have to search all sites one by one, even though I am not looking for a job.

This is awesome, I love the Google-like simplicity of this website and the salary issue was one of my main issues back when I was researching for jobs. However, most companies do not post salary range in their job descriptions, which would make this new feature less practical.
