I like Veronica a lot, and I will continue to follow her, my strongest suggestion for Mahalo daily, however, would be Amanda Congden. I don’t know what in the world happened to her, but I’ll say that I stopped watching RocketBoom after she left.

Veronica knows her stuff backwards and forwards, is great on camera and bottom line, is great at what she does! She is the tech geek I want to be when I grow up (and I’m older than her). LOL I’m thrilled that she’s coming to Tekzilla to work with Patrick. I think they’ll be an awesome combo for that show! Can’t wait to see it!

@Irene…You are absolutely correct. This bias isn’t limited to the tech industry. Women can be 100% knowledgeable of their craft but if they aren’t attractive they wont get very far. And if we are talking in front of the camera, then they wont be considered at all.

Granted Veronica knows her stuff tech wise BUT would she be this popular and successful if she did not have an attractive appearance? Definitely not. As much as people would like to dispute this point, appearance counts for as much or more as tech knowledge in this industry.

I don’t personally know Veronica, nor do I have any interest in the success of her previous employer or her new one in Revision3, but anyone that says she’s “just a hot chic” needs to do their research first before they open their mouth. Veronica is actually a very intelligent, insightful Tech correspondent. She does a killer job of keeping up with the latest news & trends, and she’s an avid techie herself; so she talks about her own experiences with certain software, gadgets, etc. that’s not just some pre-written “story” for her to read into a camera.

In fact, I think she’s better educated on the Tech industry than many guys that are blogging or ‘trying’ to talk about Tech. Her looks are merely a bonus. Just listen to some past episodes of CNET’s Buzz Outloud podcast and you’ll quickly discover how much of a smart cookie she really is.
