I love working with netsol. I don't have a problem with them other than their pricing changes sometimes (like the recent 9.99 deal) and I miss out on the specials because I don't know about them!

Maybe this will save you some money. I can warn you about a very bad registrar, mydiscountdomains.com.

mydiscountdomains.com is a big scam. We thought it was a good idea to save a few dollars so we transferred our domains there thinking it would work out. Was that ever a bad idea. The first thing hit us when we lost email from the mydiscountdomains email system that was supposed to forward it. The email forward apparently wasn’t working right for almost 2 months before we found out. Some came through and some did not. We lost some big orders too. Email did not go through because of mydiscountdomains configuration problems, or whatever we never found out why.

Every time we had problems with our mydiscountdomains websites, we called the mydiscountdomains phone number, which isn’t listed on their website because they don’t want to talk to their customers; they only want your money, no questions asked. They do not answer their phone anyway, so forget about it. It is listed in whois because all registrars are forced to list it in whois, otherwise you would never find out about it. There are no live people at mydiscountdomains, just an old fashioned recording machine that hardly speaks English.

After a year of repeated problems with mydiscountdomains, we tried to transfer our domains from mydiscountdomains to a more reputable registrar, but that was the worst experience of all. Nothing would transfer. They blocked out transfers! After complaining to the ICANN or whoever it was above them, we were informed through the grapevine that mydiscountdomains was likely in some sort of financial trouble, chapter 7, or bankruptcy reorganization and they could be down for many months.

If you try to email mydiscountdomainsonly, you might as well just forget it. We sent mydiscountdomains “support” (what a joke) over 20 emails and got only 1 response (early on in our failed relationship). What a nightmare mydiscountdomains turned out to be. We saved maybe $2 a domain but lost many thousands of dollars of business because of their problems and crappy service. I don’t know how much money and business we lost, and how many business contacts fell through the cracks. But mydiscountdomains.com cost us many many thousands of dollars. I don’t think it ever worked right.

NETSOL will hijack your mother if you try to look her up on their website!

If you are searching to see if a domain name is in use...DO NOT USE the Networksolutions webpage. They take whatever name you enter, and register it under their name! Then if you go to try and buy it elsewhere (everyone is cheaper than netsol) you can't because they STOLE IT!

Try it

Netsol's tactics get even worse. When using a whois or "find a domain" on their site, they track the IP that the query came from and resolve it to a company. If the company is big enough (like microsoft), then they will reserve the queried domain, and jack up their price to acquire it. Then they'll solicit whomever did the query with their price-gouging. Corporate Cyber-squatting.

Network Solutions is preventing me from accessing Maria Sharapova's official website ! ... I can find no way of getting round it or accessing www.mariasharapova.com. without their page popping up. ...

What's more, once the Network Solutions page is up on my screen, nothing will get rid of it. It just refuses to close. ...

As a total tech retard, this is completely beyond me. .. Is there anything at all I can do to get back to the tennis ???

Incidentally, I've never, to my knowledge, had anything to do with this company. Don't know one end of a website from another .. so their offering me the Sharapova website domain name is very sweet of them, I'm sure, but I sort of think it already belongs to Sharapova's team ! lol

As a total tech retard, this is completely beyond me. .. Is there anything at all I can do to get back to the tennis ???

Incidentally, I’ve never, to my knowledge, had anything to do with this company. Don’t know one end of a website from another .. so their offering me the Sharapova website domain name is very sweet of them, I’m sure, but I sort of think it already belongs to Sharapova’s team ! lol

Thank you very much for bringing this information to our attention.

I left NetSol a long time ago, when they charged 100$ a year for a domain name... and I'm never going back, ever.

Really, great information there. Last month I have faced new problem to all my domains. On every index pages and login pages, there are iframe codes which lead to IP address. I removed code from my websites manually and changed all ftp passwords. Since then its ok.

A NetSol added 404 is still no good. It indicates that something 'exists' at that location when in reality the domain owner has never put something there.
