Here’s the coolest thing you’ll see this morning. It’s a robotic snake created by Carnegie Mellon. It can climb through small holes, up pipes, and even twirl itself around poles to climb. It comes in a waterproof, wireless version as well for those times when you want to scare everyone out of the pool. That’s a friggin’ hilarious video, seriously it’s cool. I see they kicked it instead of smacking it with their hand. That’s good, because when friends come by you don’t want that to be hand shy, people notice….

Does anyone else find the crunch gear music annoying every time you start a video? The snake could be used as a stealthy bomber for the military. Sneak up on unsuspecting insurgents or wildlife documentary crews.
Well this reminds me of a phillip k dick story. I can well imagine that little snake sneaking up upon a bunch of terrorists in an afghan cave. A small entry hole will suffice, a well as well if it’s old school with a bucket and a rope. Infrared guided packed with explosives. Well of course it could also be used in rescue missions. Small holes in the rubble of collapsed houses, or locate trapped miners. Seems more likely to me it was funded for the first use case: An assassination planers dream.
