I can well imagine that little snake sneaking up upon a bunch of terrorists in an afghan cave. A small entry hole will suffice, a well as well if it's old school with a bucket and a rope. Infrared guided packed with explosives. Well of course it could also be used in rescue missions. Small holes in the rubble of collapsed houses, or locate trapped miners. Seems more likely to me it was funded for the first use case: An assassination planers dream. Well this reminds me of a phillip k dick story.
