One startup that presented at the Next Web in Amsterdam is Wuaw, which just launched a mobile app called WuawWee. The app lets you upload photos from your phone to a widget on various social networks (Facebook, Bebo, MySpace, iGoogle) and chat with friends. You can see the chat on your phone, and they can grab the widget and put it on their MySpace or Facebook pages. The mobile service costs 5 Euros per month, or 1 Euro per use.
Ads will be embedded in the desktop widget, and radio streaming will come soon (Wuaw has streaming deals with European radio stations for its MyRadio product).

so, why should I stop the free Shozu service?
What makes them think that people would even use this service if it was free? And 1 Euro per use?!? wtf.
deadpool. no ones gonna pay for that its not even worth it
good news
having a mobile all time is easy then having a laptop
good news again to say
That is a severe misquote. The service is absolutely free.
We are however pondering to add additional services that include streaming media, which are going to cost the user the prices mentioned in the article as far as we can see now.
Regards, the Wauw! Wee team.
As far as I know the service itself is free, because I use it for a week now. I was at the Next Web in Amsterdam and it they sais the idea would be to combine the service with a data package from a mobiel carrier. So for Eur 5,- per month use of the service INCLUDING data package. The cheapest data package in Europe is around EUR 7,50 flat fee.
All and Erick:
My fault for the confusion - WauwWee is free! We are going to TEST a business model by which a user on his mobile may choose to pay $1/day or $5 per month to read messages received. This would not stop him/her from enjoying the full service. And … if our users prefer ads, we’ll go in that direction.
With respect to Shozu … major differences! We are browser-based - NO CLIENT download. Further we are a MESSAGING service as well as a photo share community. Lastly we work with flash widgets that integrate everywhere and can be shared everywhere.
Guys - try it! Would love your feedback. If we are inhaling too many Amsterdam fumes, we’ll adjust! We think we have a (albeit raw) winner. Watch your widget refine over the next while. That refinement will happen faster with your feedback.
Thanks for your attention!
psst…your post has their name misspelled…it is wauw wee, you have it wuaw wee…
Interesting little concept. Will they bring it to the American market and if not, is there an American site like this?
The fact that you can’t spell their name properly is probably a good indication that nobody else can either. I know domain names are at a premium, but come on… this is about as good as naming your company yhipeeckaiyaay.com.
@#8 … all over the place… title, slug, links… totally butchered the name… ouch. (Imagine the excitement over bieng in a TC post… then to see your brandName misspelled at every… single… instance…. ouch.)
