@Sean:

Today, every machine you come across is running on Java! Java might had been crap 10 years ago (on pentium 1). Clicky is not a bad service! but it's far away from Woopra... I think Woopra is steps ahead! and guess what, they're still in private beta.

Well done Wooprah

Interesting concept, but something like GoStats has a track record of uptime and appears easier to use. (not sure I see the strength with Woopra here)

I agree with the other commenters who feel that an unsolicited chat window would be off-putting. A visitor should initiate the conversation, not the site owner.

Also, Jeff (#47) makes a valid point about level of detail, although in some respects a site's volume of traffic will dictate whether analysts drill down to segmented populations or individual sessions.

No online marketing manager or web analyst worth their money is going to look at individual visitor sessions. This is nice eye-candy, but hardly practical. Why look at data in "real-time" if you are not going to take action on it?

It's basically the exact same thing as Clicky, except with a dark background, and written in Java.

The Java thing is perplexing. When was the last time I used a Java app? Hmm. I guess about 10 years ago when I permanently disabled it in all my web browsers because it's slow as crap. Oh wait, I did try azureus a while back. Yeah, that was a GREAT experience... so great in fact that I immediately and permenantly uninstalled Java from my computer, and will never put it back on.

Agree with Chris, Activa Live Chat has to be mentioned here - live chat system with the live stats/traffic monitoring combination. I bit more valuable.
