I was amazed to see her speak Spanish. I think that she is doing great taking this job in other language. My first language is Spanish and her spanish is clear enough for me to understand. Great job Natali!

Well, maybe after you earn a degree in journalism someone will talk to you about it.
I hear a lot of carping about how she ’sounds’ like someone speaking a second languge, how many of you all have learned a second languge or your own language, well? She has two(2) degrees, has been reporting online for several years and was asked to do this program. Obviously the producers of the program think her Spanish is competent enough to do the job.
And as for her looks vis a vis those “infobabes on Univision” I’ve seen them, they don’t look like they understand what they are saying (with a very few exceptions). Those who appreciate and enjoy her work wil continue to do so and those who are jealous and mean spirited will continue to be so.

She’s attractive, intelligent, and she also speaks Spanish.

Have you ever heard of a tennis player named Roger Federer? Yeah, he’s Swiss, but yet he speaks fluent German, English, and French. I’ve heard his interviews in English, and while he doesn’t have a perfect English accent, his proficiency in speaking the language is nothing short of incredible.

Granted, many people can speak multiple languages. But are you guys serious about bashing someone for not sounding Spanish enough?

I guess maybe any G4 fanboys should also say that they should remove Olivia Munn because she’s not a true geek.

As a Kit Kat fanboy, all I can say is … GIMME A BREAK!

I’m a native Spanish speaker and I’ve met many people who learned Spanish and talk much better than her. I don’t think she really knows Spanish.

However, it’s a good try and I’m sure she can lean and improve.

I am a native Spanish speaker and I actually happen to be bilingual with English. I have been told many times that my English is nearly perfect, the only thing I have been told is that I have basically no accent so you cant pinpoint where I am supposed to be from. This is not the case with this woman, you can clearly detect that she is English and speaking Spanish as a second language. However it is clearly spoken and everything can be understood quite easily. But there is a big difference in being understood and having to hear a whole program in this mechanical sounding Spanish. I also think that the Spanish speaking audience will probably not put up with this a long time. I know I wouldn’t.

As a native Spanish speaker, I can tell that her Spanish is excellent, I could understand everything she said. However it is true, that you can clearly say that she is not a native Spanish speaker. She still has to loose the “English” accent.

Makes me wonder why Univision decided not to do this show with a native Spanish speaker, the spanish speaking audience probably won’t be forgiving with her Spanish.

I am pretty sure that CNET and Univision can find someone who really speaks spanish! … maybe Natali has tried hard but for these kind of shows you really need to speak the language fluently. Cnet should take note of the excellent mobuzztv daily buzz done in “fluent” English, French and Spanish

As a yanqui who has lived in (and travels to) Latin America quite a bit, I have to agree with other folks here who criticized her accent. It’s atrocious. To start off, she could at least roll her R’s!

Now, that said, I give her major props for diving head first into the gig. It has got to be really tough going into it knowing that her Spanish would get torn apart by native speakers. I’m sure she’ll get better. And as a fellow gringo, I wish her the best of luck.

As an aside, given the plentiful supply of infobabes on Univision, and every other Spanish language station I’ve ever seen, why not have one of them do the show?

My guess is she's speaking Spanish because it's a fairly big market. Univision is often the 2nd most-watched network for 18-34 year olds behind only FOX (and ahead of CBS, ABC, NBC and the CW).
