Starting tomorrow Photobucket will be able to edit images on the service in-browser courtesy of technology provided by FotoFlexer.

The deal, which is highly reminiscent of the one recently struck between Flickr and Picnik, allows for things like resizing, rotating, coloring, decorating, beautifying, and distorting.

This is a really great technology. Being able to edit images at the same time at uploading them is very helpful and a nice time saver. I think facebook should try and incorporate this type of technology, people spend a lot of time looking at photos on facebook and I’m sure they would take advantage of this

FotoFlexer is actually good editing software. A demo version was released last summer and If your familiar with Fireworks, this is the watered down, user friendly version.

It’s awesome. I think Facebook should incorporate this too. Right now the default Facebook photo thing only allows you to upload and not do much.

Hooray! I am a huge fan of Photobucket and use it for uploading all my pictures; FotoFlexer will greatly enhance the service and simpify the process of cropping, rotating, etc.

yeah i like the combination of the two services as they work well together. we have thought about this for cutcaster as well and talked to a few potential partners. very interested to see how that works out or speaking with anyone that has any ideas for partnerships in this area.

This might be the reason why Picnik made the majority of its pro features free a few weeks ago.

Snipshot is working great in its integration with ourdoings.com.

I’m not averse to adding other options for online photo sharing later, but Snipshot keeps its interface very simple. When you crop, preserving the aspect ratio is intuitive. With the other online photo editors users have more of a learning curve.
