I suppose if you raise enough VC money, you'll find a business model that works. Here are some great examples... WebVan. Veoh. Slide. RockYou. Tesla.

Ah damn, okay, I take that back.

Their was a company called Platform group thats in the same area...but they got bought by COX or Comcast for good $$. Since the set top box market and content aggregation market is dead for small players Akimbo is doing the correct move by reusing their software and expertise.

They kind of compete with us, but we work on one single vertical most companies do not want to touch.

Is it the company that just never says quit or the company that just keeps burning more money? It's an enviable position to be in to be able to secure new rounds of funding every time they hit the reset button, just like a video game. But wait, this is real world... so what gives?

Evolution on somebody else's dime is always a wonderful thing if you can find investors willing to gamble that what they invested in isn't necessarily what it will look like at the end of a day. Hopefully they have more luck with this one.

Unbelievable. I remember attending entrpreneur conferences in the DC area back in 1999-2000, when Akimbo was an "online gaming platform".

pay per minute (rounded up) video will create big $$...for 2 years.

all x-rated "__tube" or "you__" sites now have a real business model available to them.
