MyPunchbowl Has Its Own Buzz: News Feed for Parties

Yahoo may have beat them to it with the launch of its Digg clone, but MyPunchbowl too wants to announce something called “Buzz”, this one a Facebook News Feed clone of sorts for party planning.

MyPunchbowl Buzz will give hosts and guests alike a way to keep track of what’s going on with the party scene as organized through the site. Initially it will consist of the onsite info stream shown below, but there are plans to expand its scope to include RSS, instant messaging, and SMS-based notifications as well. An API will eventually be provided for developers to leverage the Buzz data for whatever purposes they desire off-site.

facebook and all its apps are useless lame crap, everyone will wake up to that fact sooner than later.

Still a ways to go to add value to their service. Too much flash, not enough substance.

Regardless to whether or not this feed would be valuable to Facebook users, the application idea on Facebook is already a burnt out idea unfortunately. Too many people got spammed with application requests and are reluctant to add any new ones so it may or may not work. If they had developed this within the first few months of the applications launching, they may have found much more success.

Cool, planypus had feature this at our inception in 2006. We didn’t think it was a new-release worthy item though. [flame]Of course at that time techcrunch had higher newsworthiness filters :-) [/flame]
