I just checked out David's (#15) reference of Fast Pitch!. I had never heard of them before.

Check out their response to Linkedin Mobile (link below). An obviously biased, yet interesting take on the announcement nonetheless.

You can also get to the mobile site via the (non-qwerty) key pad numeric domain equivalent of the word "Linked" - 546533.

Simply enter 546533.com into your mobile browser. It's much easier than the 28 inputs required for m.linkedin.com.

I love LinkedIN. They do need to work on the whole situation of contacting other people but I feel as though they are on a great start when it comes to creating the business social networking engine. You can find mostly everyone on there and you can grow your network rather rapidly in order to be at least 3 degrees away from everyone else -- The key to it is the network of friends you have. The more people, the more the network effect increases and grows onto itself.

Beta? Seriously LinkedIn... grow some cajoles and put something out there with some meat behind it.

Even smaller business networks like Fast Pitch! (www.fastpitchnetworking.com) allow you to do more using your iPhone or Blackberry including the ability to make connections, invite people to join groups, manage your profile... Hell, you can even post a press release, upload media, create events and post classifieds on Fast Pitch! from your phone if you are bored enough.

LinkedIn better hurry up and go IPO... other platforms are quickly passing them by.

nice graph...

anyway, I'd prefer an application for my BB.....even though I am on Verizon's fast network, browsers are slow.

Twitter and Facebook apps are great on my phone....when can I expect one from LinkedIn?

Your Daddy,

That is not new. They had that for a while and it is pretty useless. LinkedIn is a great site but it is not run by innovative individuals. Sad.

The mobile function is useless as well, unless i am planning to spend too much time staring at my iphone. There are a lot of things they could have done.

Looks OK on my PPC 6800 - although I never saw an HTTPS session on my login, I hope they are secured logins!? Could come in handy if I could see people's email or cell number so I could email/call them with a click of a link. But other than that, seems useless. I have way more contact info already in my phone's contacts/exchange. I guess it could be used while you're in the crapper to check on how ppl are updating their profiles ;-)
