TechCrunch/CrunchGear/MobileCrunch Barcelona Meet-up - UPDATE
by John Biggs on February 12, 2008

We will hold tomorrow’s TC/CG/MC meet-up at the Cafe del Sol, Av Paral.lel 182, right down the street from the Fira. I’ve received quite a few emails already but RSVP with the subject line “BCN MEET-UP” to john @ crunchgear.com so I can put together a head count. Apparently a bunch of strangers in a law office wasn’t quite a good idea so I moved it to a hole-in-the-wall paella place with an upstairs. See you there at 6pm tomorrow, February 13.

Comments

Anyone over in Barcelona have any comments they’d like to share about the event? I have some colleagues over there but no one has heard a word otherwise…

Thanks!

Just tell them to show up at 6pm tomorrow.

vente para acá niño… que te lo vas a pasar en grande… por si no lo entiendes te lo pongo en ingles que seguro que lo lees mejor:
come here man, go to flip!! je je je

que es lo que hay que entender

I would like to be there this evening, but I don’t think I’ll be able.

Anyway, do you guys know that a few blocks from the place you’ll hold the meeting is one of the best “tapas” restaurant in Barcelona, founded by Ferran Adrià’s (El Bulli) brother. Probably a better choice than a “paella place”, at least for dinner. The direction:

And please, if you want to taste how good cava (catalan champagne) is, please don’t order the one on the picture :-)

Anyone staying in Barcelona once the congress is over? Anyone in the mobile advertising industry? Maybe we can meet-up and talk…

Now I understand why my name wasn’t on the door at your lawyers’s office. Presumably they had the old list. from before you moved it?

Still, about 50 people went there instead, no doubt assuming that if you moved the event you’d send out an email. It was a pretty good event. Tell me, why *didn’t* you email the people on the list?

Actually, this is hysterical. You organised a networking event, then moved it, but didn’t tell anyone in any effective way. So actually there were two events that night: this one, and the one you thought you’d cancelled but actually hadn’t. Impressive!
