We’ve always been huge supporters of the firefox development team. Firefox 3 def. does the job. We recommend it all the time. It’s like the MAC of web browsers. The plug-ins are fantastic too.

Considering this is a beta, I’m surprised at how well the Firefox browser works. I like the new back/forward/reload buttons on the Beta, but considering it’s in the third stage of the beta and IE8 is on their first stage, I would think that Firefox would be better, but overall they’re about the same.

It’s supposed to suck people. Beta means it’s for testers and developers.
If you want it to be stable, WAIT FOR A STABLE RELEASE.

It’s a f***ing beta. The purpose of a beta is to test for bugs. Either report them to the Mozilla team or play “hide and go f*** yourselves”.

I am still a fan of Firefox. No idea to switch yet. There is no need to compare FF2 and IE7, maybe FF3 and IE8.

Most current activity on the Firefox 3 front is wrapped up in planning, scoping, and assigning tasks. But for the most part, it’s good enough to use.

Sure you can use portable firefox if you want to deal with all kinds of quirks like installing a local copy of Java, separate steps to install common plugins, etc. No thanks, I will stick to my “hack”.

Firefox, oh Firefox, you were so great when I had a PC and now on my shiny new Mac you fail me almost daily, with locks, hangs, and slightly different rendering…

Please, please, please, let FF 3 be stable.

I like FF 2.0 but mine locks up after awhile, especially when memory demands increase. I’m frequently killing the firefox.exe process via the task manager. I’m not a big fan of IE but the FF lockups are frustrating.

I switched back to FF2 as well… had crazy scrolling problems. Since yesterday I have moved to webkit (which is also available for windows). OK no addons but man it is so unbelievably fast! w00t! http://nightly.webkit.org/

Umm… I just installed FF3 beta 3 on a mac and it’s AMAZING. So much smoother than the last firefox, interface looks great (except the gray doesn’t get lighter so it kind of looks like it is always selected), and I know this is small but I love that it can now scroll when not selected like the rest of leopard! makes researching while typing a paper soooo much easier.

I have been a long time user of FF, but have now switched to Webkit. The nightly builds are 4-5 times faster than anything else in the market, it passes Acid 2 and works on all my bank and credit card sites. Browsing is fun again!
