What if the webwide reputation system was simply based on the actual time people spend on your content?
It's more passive than thumbs up and down (only 1% click), so there is no bias...
We've developed Who's Hot, a widget that computes a reputation for each visitor of a blog, and provides a filtering tool. Try it our and let me know what you think!

An easy "Save an e-mail as a Task" app that allows you to:

1) Associate the original e-mail (and maybe threads) with a "Project or Client"
2) Move/Copy the notes and attachments from an e-mail to a Task for the project
3) Define Priority, Start Date, Due Date & essentials.

The best app I've seen thus far for e-mail associations and relationships is Xobni (a plug-in for Outlook), but it doesn't deal with tasks - just really does an incredible job of organizing e-mail, contacts & attachments.

I've found recently on Internet a voting system, named ElectionPlatform, which elects the winner based on the Reputation value, and I believe it matches perfectly the “Webwide Reputation System” category.

Besides considering the number of votes a certain person accumulates, ElectionPlatform voting system takes into account the reputation of each voter and candidate, by analyzing the votes they got at their turn. Votes cast by people that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other people "important." At the end, the winner in an election is the person with the highest reputation value, and not necessarily with the majority of votes.

"A Webwide Reputation System"

Its called Rapleaf!

Sure, its not AJAX-ified, but it does what its supposed to very well... if sites like Ebay would quit acting in such a reactionary way (last I heard Rapleaf was blocked on ebay), we could start making real progress on the Reputation front.

1) like TimH said, the holy grail of calendaring - not just webmail to replace gmail, webmail to replace outlook. please? pretty please?

but if we can ask for anything I'd like a nice smart filesystem with a true 3d interface (because an extra axis means extra places to present data) where I can put everything. I mean every-thing. bookmarks, friends, work documents, notes about that thing I was thinking about last week, audio, video, whatever - perfect multi-format storage with a killer interface and learning algorithms organize it all where I can keep everything.

Hmm.. sounds interesting.. everyone knows nothing will be built in 45 minutes - unless it's based on an existing platform, and then you're just asking for trouble.

If you're serious about the 'social' + 'financial' app, your time would be better spent splitting up the group, and having them just stand in a (store/music venue/cafe/bank/sporting event/church) watching people take money out of their pockets and paying for things.

You might actually learn something.

How about building something that will let people easily organize volunteer activities that help people in our community and the world. It would be nice to see a site that let community organization post their events where people can sign-up for specific time slots or activities. The site would people who are interested in volunteering search for opportunties by such things a location, type of work, time, etc.

Two ideas:

1. The holy grail of calendaring, the tool that lets us all share our calendar stuff no matter what we use, and which lets us schedule non-work appointments (use case: "I need a haircut between now and my wedding date, and I'd prefer the afternoon")

2. Web and e-mail infrastructure to allow my credit card / debit card company to create electronic copies of my receipts and get them to me, processable by whatever financial management program I use.

#24 Alex

Thanks but I met with them once about using their platform to develop enterprise applications, but the user/month license module doesn't work for casual users. Imagine completing an Expense Report as an Excel "form" and emailing it around for approval. It's messy but it's not costly which makes it difficult to develop a realistic ROI with Salesforce.

I would have to vote on a Single ID system that guarantees authenticity, security, and universality.

Username/Password proliferation is just absolutely ridiculous in the Web society today.

The site can recommend people for you to listen to, just like amazon recommends books. And you will be recommended to others. The site will make use of de.licio.us style toolbar buttons for your browser. This way you can start a talk-about topic for the page or blog entry you are reading. There will be facebook and OpenSocial apps that link you and your posts to other social networks.

By the way, what´s happened with digg? It´s giving problems, it doesnt allow me login.
