the guys from looky-look.net have a new pdf viewer in flash which is for free. i worry about the language which is german-only, but the viewer is cool and very fast. i found the demo at http://www.look...net/viewer.html
and an easy-to-implement tutorial which can be understood by non-german readers ^^ when clicking on ’service’.
i tried with a bigger pdf and this seems to run fluently, too. so this is my new favourite…

Sorry to report that issuu now does suck. They changed everything and added a huge advertising banner across the right side of the scree. You have to by their professional version to get rid of it. But then they put their logo on every page you tgry to publish. Stay away from them then sucked people in, got their good reviews (as here) and then changed the game.

ISSUU is a pain in the neck. Doesn´t convert documents correctly, loses not only page and font formats, but entire documents. it looks nice on the surface, but in fact it sucks.
