I am a big fan of what Circos is doing. The man vs. machine debate in search obscures the point that the ultimate best solution will be a combination of both approaches. Increasingly it is evident is that user generated content has higher "someone like me" authority irrespective of the quality of the actual content; Circos goes a long way to rationalizing the inherent conflict here.

Nick, thanks for the shout out.

Elliott, we make it down to PA every now and then. It would be nice to connect in person.

Yes, this is an area that Kango is extremely interested in. We believe the next frontier is pulling together subjective preferences with objective, fact-based preferences. At Kango.com we are doing that by buildiing a customized taxonomy of both in the travel space, and tying it together. So that is why we think most approaches to semantic search are best when there is a specific industry or vertical focus, rather than trying to come up with the uber solution for search that covers all industries. We'll look forward to following Circos progress in the future. If the Circos guys are ever in Palo Alto, please let us know, we'ed love to meet up.

I wanted to add that Quintura search engine is powered by semantic neural networking technology.
