Playyoo: YouTube For Mobile Games Goes Beta

playoo.jpgPlayyoo, a site we first reviewed in October and billed as a YouTube for mobile games, opens in beta today after 4 months in private testing.

Playyoo offers free games for mobile phones, user-generated content, social interaction and personal expression. Features include a discovery and download process that allows mobile phone users to find games of interest, personalized recommendations based on each user’s preferences and those of friend, Game creation tools that will allow users with no experience to design their own games and social networking features that allow developers and users who interact with others

Since first unveiled in October, London, England based Playyoo has generated strong interest within the Flash Lite and gaming communities, having gained visitors from 82 countries on 162 mobile networks to the site. Over 200 games are currently available for free download.

In addition to the launch, Playyoo will also expand their developer contests taking the total prize money available to $40,000. See the site for further details.
