lolinator.jpgTechCrunch isn’t written by cats?

Thanks to a tip from Ryan Kuder let me introduce LOLinator, a site that combines the still hot LOLcats phenomenon with any site of your choosing. The service comes from Malevolent Design and turns any site into one designed by cats. You can visit TechCrunch designed by cats here if you want the full version, or a screen shot below.

Who do I contact to send news tip-offs?

Wow. This web application is really smart and web 3.0.

LOLinator will obviously go viral.

Nice idea from its creators.

What a weird bunch of comments.

After reading this kind of posts, I thought TC was already run by cats.

Okay, “Techcrunch written by Kitteh” is the funnniest thing I’ve seen all day. I vote that you do this at least once a week.

Our emails are on the about page. (http://www.techcrunch.com/about-techcrunch/) There is also a company submission form. (http://www.techcrunch.com/submit-profile)

This sounds like a copy cat of icanhascheezburger

My god!

Look how horrid MySpace would look if it was designed by cats: http://tinyurl.com/2hoega

@ketyung

OH HAI!
can i haz ur cheezburger?

If we where April 1st, I would get it but I don’t get this at all. Bad spelling, pictures of cats… Duncan I think you are becoming increasingly tired of producing high quality content and need to take a Sabbatical to refresh your batteries before your writing goes to the dogs ;-)

Not nearly as good as the LOLcat bible.

Took rather a while. Leetspeak translators have been around for ever, I remember playing with one in school. I’m surprised it took so long to do the same for lolspeak.

Funny - anthropomorphising animals on the Internet and putting words in their mouths was at one time the preserve of crazy old ladies writing Geocities websites (later blogs) from their cats’ perspective. Once it was a surefire route to Something Awful’s Awful Link of the Day section, now it’s a staple of Internet humour.

This is all well and good. But which cat will reign supreme?

Wow this is a great design tool. The LOLinated site may be better than the original…

Wow looks like designers and writers are going to be in the same boat soon.

This very good especially when you read in these pages plays where design is boring

Shouldn’t that be “If TechCrunch WERE written by cats”?

There used to be a Mr. T-inator, but apparently it’s broken.

…. so much to say… so little words to choose from :-)
