Add TechCrunch WebClip to Your iPhone

If you like to read TechCrunch on the go, you may be interested in adding our new, shiny WebClip icon to the home screen of your iPhone for easier accessibility.

Just browse with Safari to TechCrunch, hit the plus button at the bottom of the screen, and choose “Add to Home Screen”. We’ve customized the icon that loads so you see our green and black acronym rather than a shrunken version of our homepage.

If you have a site and want to customize your iPhone WebClip, check out either this unofficial resource or this official one.

Shameless self promotion…I like it

Dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

Yeah, why not??? In our diary live that we remain occupied so, why not to make use of the technology?

Looks good. Odd that Gmail hasn’t added a custom icon yet.

Nice, time to make an icon

Thanks for the tip. Nice write up from the “unofficial resource”.

Just added it to my iPod Touch (which I use for about half of my casual web browsing these days). :)

TechCrunch loads REALLY slowly on my iPhone due to all the stuff in the sidebar on the right.

Any chance you can create something similar for uk.techcrunch.com too?

Thanks - it looks so much neater.

This would be even better with an iPhone optimized version of TechCrunch.

If Google, Facebook, Digg, Amazon.com, New York Times, Twitter, Zoho and a growing list of others can deliver iPhone optimized versions of their sites, why not TechCrunch?

So… when can we expect TechCrunch to do the same? Hmmmmm?

This would be cool if it didn’t crash safari everytime I opened TC’s page. I said months ago that you guys should make a techcrunch.com/iphone optimized app.

Did you guys let the intern make that icon??

The kerning is way off.

The “T” and the “C” should really be nearly touching in the same fashion as the words “Tech” and “Crunch” are touching each other.

Come on guys… get a real designer!

I’d like to do this but I don’t see “the plus button at the bottom of the screen” on my iPhone when I browse to TechCrunch.com.

Update my iPhone first, duh.

Love it. Added it.

I agree with Jesse, an iPhone app for you guys would be sweet!

This is not working for me - I still get the standard shrunken version. Anyone having the same problem?
