I like the online newsgator (and the iPhone) version when I am away from my PC, but no way can Google Reader match the user experience in NetNewsWire (or most of its functionality). In fact, the only thing I like better about Google Reader is the shared items (ooooohhhh), which I use on occassion.

I am actually surprised they are giving away the desktop clients, there must be some decent revenue there. Especially since NNW is the most widely used client--in the world--which is weird, because it's a Mac ap. But anyone who's on a Mac, I highly recommend you try this. Not only is it the best desktop newsreader, it's one of the best Mac applications I've ever used (and I use it a LOT).

Thanks NewsGator for making my next upgrade free!

I am a long time user of FeedDemon and absolutely love it. I have tried online readers in the past but never felt they worked quite aswell as FeedDemon. Coupled with the online sync reader, I now have all my feeds with me wherever I go. The iPhone version of newsgator is my most used app! Try it, you'll love it. No excuse now its free.

I only hope the enterprise products work for them revenue wise, I don't want ads displayed in FeedDemon. If the plan doesn't work, I would gladly start paying for FeedDemon again.
