During the course of 2008, I'm wondering if "Digital Media" or "New Media" start-up ventures will dominate the news.

Perhaps more Web 2.0 or Wireless Web-centric companies will surface.

Maybe the video, social networking and related online advertising buzz will also reach saturation and start to subside. We'll have to wait and see.

I'm looking forward to the next SXSW Interactive Festival -- held in Austin, Texas -- because it's a good indicator of the next wave of online trends.

I am looking forward to seeing how many of these "acquired" or "need more funding" ventures end up either in the Deadpool the following year or better yet, become a household name!

Nothing seems to get TC excited more than money. Like other commenters have posted, I think it would be nice to hear more about companies that do not yet have major funding.
