i agree. gmail looks like a cool minimal idea, but i hate the numbers in brackets ( ) that’s behind the senders’ name, there is no point to that, and if there was or if gmail cared they would GODDAMN give option to choose my preference.

Yahoo is better, though im getting a lot of spam there lately, im using both it and gmail accounts

Its always better to use gmail rather than yahoo for some simple reasons. I use gmail for imap forwarding i.e it allows us to use outlook to receive and send mail. I personnaly have a work at home fell and thus professionalism is required for me.

Gmail provides me and in no way i would switch to other things.

Yahoo emails its’ users alot of SPAM. I am thinking about switching to gmail from yahoo because of this reason. You also have to pay yahoo to use some additional features that doesn’t come with their basic mail.

I keep yahoo for mailing list related information, and two gmail accounts: one personal, one for business. I have no doubt gmail will catch up with yahoo’s usership but they may be neck to neck becuase people will keep a backup, just in case one crashes… maybe htey should work together to synchronize contacts, etc, so people are able to update on both systems.

I’m still using the classic Yahoo mail interface..

but whatever happened to the little arrows in the tabs (”Mail”, “Addresses”, “Calendar”, “Notepad”) that gave a drop down menu when clicked on? They seem to have disappeared (although re-appear sporadically)..

Also, the mail search function, which used to be great, is now completely crippled. You can never find the e-mail you want. This kind of defeats the purpose of unlimited storage. Will Yahoo address these problems soon??

Yahoo’s main strength seems to be great reliability and speed of delivery for both incoming and outgoing e-mails.. for this reason I will stick with it, but I hope the problems with search in particular can be fixed soon..

I used to use yahoo and switched, because gmail has so much space for your messages and the search features put yahoo to shame, besides I never could get used to telling somebody blahblah@yahoo.com it just does not sound professional at all (yahoo) sounds like a rodeo cowboy or something.

I cant understand how any type of business would use Yahoo Mail or Gmail for any sort of serious client or supplier facing email. I know Im mentioning a name but for Hosted Exchange we use http://123together.com. I pay a bit but I sleep at night.

I use Yahoo mail because my work requires I use Trillian IM to correspond with our New York office.

So what’s the advantage of Yahoo mail here? Trillian notifies me when I get a new Yahoo email. No Gmail support in Trillian that I know of.

i have both gmail and yahoo …
though i use gmail for all my emails now … i still prefer to have a yahoo account … as some times i just can;t seem to access my gmail …
sometimes for hours …
gmail is good and all … but it has its downtimes … long downtimes …
