As a guy who is working on a startup that is in the same vein as this idea, I think taking a day to do something nice for the spouse or longtime partner is a good idea. A little peer pressure provided by Spouse2.0 is needed. If you are married or something close to it, its your most important social network.

Taking a few moments to send a note, on real paper, that actually says "I appreciate you" and possibly some flowers is needed every now and then if you want to keep a relationship up. (Of course, it needs a lot more than that but the surprises really help.)

And, Angela - my wife feels the same way.

"It’s a nice idea, although in an age of the baby entrepreneur (under 25) there may not be that many significant other halves to care about"

exactly! the work-bitches of the bay area are on track to set some virginity records indeed

they're pissing away their best years on a market that has already saturated and moved to the big-player advantage phase...but by time they figure that out, they'll have to whore themselves on match.com for whatever thirty-six year old scraps are made available

I've already got a spousal birthday in December, and Christmas .. now i'm supposed to do THIS too?

Hey Silicon Valley-ites: How about just paying loving attention to one's spouse all the time, instead of letting your self-absorbed startup life ruin your marriage?

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the comments and it's true if you've got a spouse; the do put up with the long days, laptops in bed, iPhones sliding and chiming and endless days of needing those first 30 minutes to just veg out when you get home. Great Idea!

Yeesh - how truly sad. "Come to our new web site to learn how to show your appreciation for the spouse you neglected with your nonstop online obsessing." Err...

How about just unplugging for a day? I'm sure the wife would like a nice long walk or a good shagging a hell of a lot more than watching you post pics of her opening the Wife 2.0 day gift you bought online.

So is this for Spouse #2? How about those who've already upgraded to Spouse 3 or 4 - what do they get?
This starts to sound a bit familar - like Mistress V2.0, Husband V3 and all those old favourites - yes, as with most of Web 2.0, not much really new here I'm afraid...

My wife doesn't even know what web 2.0 is. A generic "Internet free day" would probably go down better.
