If you need any further proof that Google flat out owns the online advertising space, just look to the right. Both Yahoo and Facebook are using Google Adwords to advertise their competing advertising platforms.
Now if Google would just start advertising back, the companies could pass revenue around in a circle indefinitely.
Thanks for Aniq Rahman for emailing this in.

That’s not really a surprise - if anything, it’d be dumb to not throw a few marketing dollars to the largest online ad platform
Absolutely hilarious. This just shows that Google is THE online advertising God and that Yahoo and Facebook are so far behind, they aren’t considered competition. Honestly, I really wonder why Yahoo doesn’t let Google take over it’s search so they can focus more on their advertising. Let’s face it, Yahoo isn’t anywhere near Google in search so why not take that part away and focus on what would make them money.
They have been doing this for months. Google also advertises on Yahoo for keywords like ‘advertising’.
There are also Google sponsored listings in Yahoo for “adwords”
Chris, perfect. Then they really are sending each other money.
It’s not a surprise really, but it does look amusing doesn’t it.
Also, Google ads in Yahoo for “CPC Advertising”…doesn’t mean Yahoo owns Google.
Michael, in reality, if you take it out far enough, everyone is just sending each other money, not just online advertisers.
Don - No one has sent ME money……..
That is just too funny. I wonder how long till google takes those ads out of the system.

Blogs sending other blogs links… Oh snap!
Facebook thanks you for posting this, that way they don’t have to pay google click through rates.
Anybody know what the rates are for google sponsored links? I tried looking this up once and there wasn’t a definitive price model?
You know what they say about bubbles…poof!
Google advertises on other networks but not so much because roi sucks.
Why would the return on investment suck? Is Google charging itself when it credits itself via “Ads by Google”?
Ive never got that , why would a rival company advertise thru a competitor. Its always boggled my mind when I heard about people like ask and other search engines using google adsense. Surely they could use something like openads to launch their own advertising platform until they can roll out a full on competitor to adsense.
only in the online world this could happen.
Insert irrelevant “Haha Web 2.0 has finally disappeared up its own arse” comment here.
It’s not much of a surprise. Think of the alternative: if Google refused to let its competitors pay it to advertise, it would be a sign of weakness. Or at least, that’s what we’d all be interpreting it as. Why shouldn’t Google accept money from competitors?
Was there any doubt that Google is #1 in search? I mean it’s only all over the news at every earnings release. This ‘discovery’ adds no value to the already extremely public knowledge of the space. Rather it seems like just another Google fan stoking the now ridiculous hype over online advertising. I agree that any expectation that ad companies should only advertise on their own ad networks is retarded. If they did that, how in the blazes are they supposed to grow their market share? Print ads? It is posts like this that make me question the sense of readers. PPC is all about paying for what you get. Why wouldn’t you reach as far as you can? Not advertising on quality competing networks is just giving up leads.
Yeah, they’re circulating money. Click on my name to see the pic.
The CEO of Shell occasionally buys gas at Chevron too
I have Yahoo! Publisher network and Google adwords, adsense, and google pack all show up in my contextual ads.
This isn’t that surprising at all. In fact, Google and Microsoft pay for listings on Yahoo!.
Google also advertises AdWords on MSN/Windows Live.
