Brightcove is dead, means the CDN TV is close to the ending histroy.

During the past three years, many Online TV providers came out across the world, such as BrightCove, Zattoo (Switzerland), PPLive, PPS, TVKOO, UUSEE Joost, Hulu and so on.

From my point of view the DeadPool will include PPLive, PPS, UUSEE and others, and the survival ones are only Joost, Zatto, and TVKOO.

P2P live streaming has been officially enhanced by Chinese government since the begginning of 2007. As you see http://nba.sports.cctv.com/01/index.shtml, people could enjoy NBA matchs online with p2p enpowered system from Koos ltd., a small company in west China.

It was predicted, In 2008, hundreds of Olympic matchs will be shown in CCTV.com by P2P streaming system with millions of users online simultaneously. Maybe that is the time for people to see P2P application by media industry.

–CCTV.com, as the name China Central TV station, is the majoy TV network in China with 75% the civil market.

#29 Ummm:

I said this:

"....You and Mark sure do express a ridiculous amount of arrogance....."

You said this:

"... MA *IS* doing his own thing - it’s called TechCrunch..."

You was addressed to Duncan for his comment in #8 where he says non-tech guys shouldn't be doing online ventures without outside help.

Where in this article or my reply does it make any reference to Mike?

Perhaps instead of saying "learn how to read", I should have said learn to read the post chain AND follow the chain of comments to get the context of the conversation and to whom the comments were directed BEFORE commenting.

As for my post, too much coffee or not Mike, several of the writers at Tech Crunch are getting to be a bit too arrogant for the good of Tech Crunch. It's one thing to write and harpoon web sites, social networks, apps, etc.. it's another entirely to generalize people into groups like non-tech, or tech and then insult the abilities of a group.

Lately the writings here from Mark and Duncan in particular have been insulting to many - and the comments have pointed this out. I respect your standing behind your writers, but at some point they are going to hurt your business and reputation. I'd like to think with your experience and character, you would have recognized this and have done some things behind the scenes to rectify this. Of course what you do with your staff is your business, but it should start to show in the posts.

From the way a lot of your readers see it, you are encouraging them to write these flaming comments and not discouraging it.

I always read people calling other people "Trolls" in their comments they post. So I went and registered "TrollTower.com" Maybe it could be a site where people fill out a quick, fabircated display box about someone they think is a troll. Any ideas??

Within the next couple years you will have to create another channel just to cover all the deadpool companies.

Lots of eyeballs are being bought with no effective way to create sustainable revenue. It is amazing to me that so many have not learned from experiences of just a few years ago.

Wow, it is from the comments on this post that I see clearly how ridiculously dumb trolls are. Does absolutely every post have to have angry mean attacks. Do people not know how to argue a point without being insulting and rude? If this is interactive media, how sad that it brings out the worst in people. I used to think that these types of comments were from teens, but with social networks on many blogs these days, its sad to see the ages of these trolls in the 30's and 40's. One would have thought they would have outgrown kindergarten by then and could play nice with each other.

It's Mike that owns Tech Crunch, not Mark. Get your shit straight or learn how to read.

(For those already enlightened, straight shit is actually a bad sign, it should be question-mark shaped. I would plug my coffee as a remedy for straight shit, but really any coffee will do!)

Hopefully someone will get the tongue in cheek humor on this one.
