c’mon guys its really silly u guys dont see why xbox360 n wii is out selling ps3.36 n wii been out very long especially 360 which only got 3 processor,ps3 has been out only few months n got 8 processor givin u row power,only japanese can figure out how to mess wit da row power ps3 got its a super computer 4 heavens sake,helo 3 will b shit wen mgs4 is out,just give game makers time to figure out how to make gamers got enough 4 ps3,so far de busy coping xbox games to ps3 n it comes out trash just like xbox yea i got 360,but games made only 4 ps3 looks like heaven das wen u no wat ps3 is made of.simple math look at ps2 it was out longer dan da first xbox it out sold everythin till 2day coz its been out 7yrs.so use your heads n see why ps3 is still behind 4 such a superb console,simply its to powerful 4 game makers,they cant handle blue rays masive row power n storage capacity 50gig on 1 cd,whilexbox360 uses normal dvd 15gig capacity,its like watching video tape recorder,while ps3 owners watch future movies 1080i HD to its finest blu ray baby.peace

Hey PS3 IS MAD I SOLD MY XBOX360 4 ONE AND AM VERY HAPPY. PS3 is here to stay. People say it sucks because it lacks games and it is expensive. If we consider that XBox has been around for 2 years, and PS3 only one year (and in Europe only 8 months, and no Xmas), we have to agree that it is doing really well, considering it is expensive, and has no games.
I think that there are a lot (and I mead A LOT) of ps2 owners that are just waiting for the big titles like MGS4 or GT5 to get their PS3. We will see a big leap in PS3 sales in 2008. Don’t forget that 140.000.000 pS2 consoles were sold worldwide. How much of this ps2 owners are sony fanboys? I am…

according to Wikipedia, in the USA the Wii went on sale two days after PS3, so the sales figures are not misleading; the Xbox360 had roughly a year head-start on both.

I own all 3 and basically every worthwhile game that’s come out (I run gamevideoreviews.com), and while I spend more time playing the 360 and Wii than I do playing the PS3, it’s a solid system that is rapidly catching up in terms of quality titles.

The price cut will help, especially when MGS4 hits, it’ll likely be a very close race from then onward, like the good old SNES vs Genesis days… I’ll still be buying almost all the multi-platform titles for the 360 though, as Live’s unified online platform is hard to beat.

The total sales are quite misleading as both the wii and the 360 have been out much longer. If you compare first year sales of the PS3 to first year sales of the 360 they are more or less the same.

The power of diversified offers. For Sony it important to catch up, but form a product marketing point of view, the increased in sales shows you that what you can do with multiple configurations product offerings and in-product cannibalism. I saw a 40gb unit advertised in a paper here today for $699 AUD..still too much compared to the US rate but getting to the appealing stage, given that it still costs around $1k AUD here to buy a Blueray player.

You buy a console for games. The ps3 has 5-10 decent games (and only 3-4 system sellers).

The 360 has 80+ “good” games and more than 20 system sellers (including almost a dozen must-have games).

I’m not a fanboy by any stretch. Hell, I don’t even own a next-gen system. But when I do buy, it’ll be because of games.

Personally I don’t plan to buy the PS3 until they release Gran Turismo 5. And I don’t think I’m alone in that. When they do release it, watch PS3 and blueray go mainstream

the cheaper PS3 is missing a lot of key items like the USB port etc. You loose a lot for the small savings and if I’m not mistaken you can’t upgrade it. Pretty crap strategy.

@home’s going to change everything once it’s released. I have the 360 at work, and it’s junk in comparison. Halo 3’s ok, but the thing is junk.
