Joost will become the IPTV for sure, but need more content.

Also, the problem for Joost is not all the regions can enjoy it.

Compare to Joost, I personal believe TVKOO is an excellent online TV even Joost is more "Pretty", but TVKOO more fluently, and with more channels.

What they need is Joost that comes directly as part of your television. That way the moment you buy a new TV as long as you have wifi in the house you can start accessing a shed load of TV shows with no hassle.

There is some good content on there too (at least in Europe), we've got some well known stuff like Fifth Gear and Paramount, but we've also got less well known stuff (internet based) like Ripe TV and Frag. What I like about it is that unlike Youtube, you don't have to trawl through tons of garbage to get to stuff that has been well made.

Joost is rapidly turning into a non-event. As long as it continues to sharply demarcate content along geographical lines, it will be little more than a novelty and technical showcase.

The content available for North American and to a lesser extent European viewers is vastly superior to that available to me in Australia (obviously, that's for my tastes but I have spoken to quite a few Australians who agree with me). Joost also make it very difficult to tell what content is available in which region, yet heavily promote shows and content deals that are only available in specific areas.

Until media distributors can find a way to make content available globally, Joost and its competitors will find their growth somewhat stunted.

Joost would do well to play the numbers game with plugins. Thats how FaceBook beat MySpace and its how IP TV will compete in the future.

In the near term keep an eye out for JootList.com. We've combined Digg and Joost into a pretty cool channel guide. Lets users vote up content. Currently a Joost widget and OpenID are in the works for seamless integration.

PS: Skype is owned by EBay, the founders of Joost were until recently working for EBay. Or at least under contract, adding Skype to Joost would have given the lawyers at EBay way too much leverage.

Wonder why they didn't integrate Skype? Would seem like a more natural choice.

Integration of meebo is amazing for both sides!

Meebo gets added usage.

Joost has a better product.

Everybody wins, big yay! Only that meebo is yet to find a REAL way to monetize, and Joost is yet to find REAL content.

joost has everything but content. they will be an easy acquisition for someone who has content but can't be bothered to do the tech. the whole enterprise screams "YOUR CONTENT COULD BE HERE!"
