As far as I know, YouTube never changed their logos for holidays like famously Google does. But today they did, quietly adding a pumpkin to the logo in lieu of the television screen we normally see. Too bad it wasn’t something a little scarier. An evil looking clown, for example, would have been perfect.

It would be cool to see pics from the founders of all the top social sites
Digg, Techcrunch, Facebook, MySpace, Google, Yahoo etc…
Maybe this post could compile a collection
Here is mine
Michael – Maybe you can post the facebook outfit you’re wearing? hehe j/k
@ Faramarz – Someone would have said it eventually, so nothing to feel bad about

The SNAP preview of Google shows Facebook! WhatUp? I just knew it!
Who heck is Marie Eve Bergeron-Tourangeau?
No one else is calling it ClownCo so no one would get the “joke”
sure they are. it was in brad stone’s article in the NY Times the other day.
Unfortunately, the culture creep doesn’t end there.
Just like AdSense insists on taking the visitor away from your site, rather than giving the publisher the option of launching a new window…so YouTube is now doing its best to grab the visitor and drag them from your site with the little tease previews.
It will be interesting to see if any competitors find new ways to monetize videos and come back to beat YouTube at that game.
Wow, the concept of customizing website logos for holidays was around way, way before Google.
I had already scrapping most famous sites’s hlidays logo!!
Did you know that if you choose Street View in Google Maps today the little guy you move around is a witch? She even flies on a broom if you make her move from place to place. Its really cute.
Happy Halloween!
It was a sad day for the internet when Gaggle snuck and bought out YouTube, I hope they never become like those kids!

God this is getting tiresome.
Where’s Mark Hendrickson? His posts are for more informative than simple Hulu-bashing, Facebook-loving Arrington’s.
Hey Mike, why not do a post on Shai Agassi’s new startup which just got ’seed funding’ to the tune of $200 macaroons.
I never see Microsoft and Yahoo follows same culture.
Techcrunch is reporting about changes in logo? Guys, get some real stories. This is lame. Must not be alot of stories out there for you to report on. Next you’re going to report on how they change their link colors.
@Fake Mark Zuckerberg (16),
Actually, subtle details in user interfaces are important in web sites. These small details are some of the reasons why Google and Youtube are such awesome websites. You’d do your self a favor by paying attention.
There is a good collection of some halloween website logos from 2007 here…
