Hopefully there will be a bunch more upgrades to Windows Live Events – to make it appeal beyond the hardcore Microsoft fan group. Their UI left me with hope, the user experience behind fell short…

That’s a very good question. The answers (for me and me only) are:
1) Before Live Events was released yesterday I’d never heard of eVite
2) I already have a username/password that gets me onto Live Events, why would I bother going and getting another one to enable me to do the same thing?

San, Microsoft is big. It’s not like everyones working on Vista. And your comment about why use it when there’s eVite is stupid. Why did people use Google in the first place when there were others ? Give it a try before commenting…

I totally agree with LiveLife. Live 2.0 search is great !!! I’m a big fan of Google Search but I recently tried the latest version of Live search. Now its my default search engine. I hardly find any difference in the top results returned by both the engines. Also, it is debatable which one returns better results.
Local results returned by Live Serach are definitely better than Google.
When it comes to image and video search, Live Search beats Google hands down.
If you want to see something really good then go to health.live.com
Can you really find better health info and more organized info on Google ?

Its a welcome addition to live suite.

Live Search 2.0 , is as good as google. Google is no more special.
did you guys ever try their web/image/video searches now . try it once and comment.

Its fancy to writeoff … Microsoft for anything they do . btw, who is innovative.

what did google invent ….? Gmail ? Search ? Maps ? Docs/SpreadSheets/Presentations ?
c’mon folks, every biggie on the web , tries to copy or buy the real web inventors aka small web companies …

nways, live.com stuff is becoming … a better and usefule set of services .

I second with Jimmy, Microsoft is doing great may be not as good as google or facebook. It is just a start, so definitely their search needs a lot of work.

Facebook is the largest invitation and picture sharing site on the net, they dwarf evite. I am surprised M$ didn’t already have this – Live Spaces is good, but seems so Frontpagish’ not terribly esthetically pleasing.

I tend to agree with both Jimmy and Kanwal. This is not a bad effort, though Live Search still needs work (and a better hook). Also agree that Eric (ironically) is a just a useless, garden variety hater.

Great ! I think people should give more credit to Microsoft than they do. It’s one thing to be critical but a totally different thing to be prejudiced. If it was Google then you guys would be drooling…Anyways, it looks great ! Can’t wait to try it out. I like how easily people can customize Spaces..Using similar features to create a perfect Events page would be a fun experience !
