Duncan, thanks for the review. Our cached feature isn' evil at all. Quite the contrary.

SearchEngines, you're referring to our very first site (still active @ http://www.corank.com/corank.html) which was the precursor of our current "create your own coRanking site" service. Truth be told, its beauty is that you can narrow what you see based on your sources. When I'm checking stories and staying with my sources, I always get stuff I'm somehow interested in (yes I eat my own dog food). When I "get out", then I can see a huge difference and get a lot of things I don't care about.

BTW, coRank has been live about 7 months, so we're still 5 months away from the first year milestone :-)

Mr.FSB, coRank can be social, but it can also be *very personal*. You should try it and create your own private "lightweight chairs repository" for your own personal use :-)

All of this "social" stuff is just a fad! Why don't you people just give it up?

CoRank was introduced to there public via this blog about a year ago

It was a noble idea in theory, but a few lousy members put a damper on it for everyone.

Some people do nothing but give negative rankings to almost everything they see - and they are still allowed to be members.

What is flawed is, when a submission has a title and a description - you know beforehand what it is about. So if you are not in to it - DON'T READ IT to begin with!

Re. cached copies, why would it be evil? Google, Yahoo, etc have been doing it for years. I guess it comes down to why and how you're doing it.
