Steve, Is probably correct, but the reality is that people need to improve technology quality not exploit a flaw of it. No wait times or interactive messages or sorts. Or maybe listening to the news or maybe a radio station that would better.

i hate ads with a passion..... more precisely, anything that takes my attention without my consent.... i don't think i am alone.... print ads, easy to ignore, aural ads, not so easy.... i guarantee one thing, i will never use a product that interrupts my life to tell me about it (threw out my tv many years ago).... even more, i would happily beat anyone i ever meet at a techcrunch function who s runs such a company.... wouldn't be surprised that one day there are phd. theses being written on the shortened life-expectancy of promoters of such products....

Give it up! MS is getting into ads now!
We are 'hell-bent' on succeeding in ads ...
We just had our FAD (Financial Analysts Day) in Redmond, Wash; and what a FAD we had!
I threw out a couple of crowd pleasing zingers, like I tend to do and the crowd of employees went crazy!

Doing my patented "preacher karate chop" in the air, I whipped arround and screamed:"We are hell-bent and determined to allocate the talent! the resources! the money! the innovation to absolutely become a powerhouse in the ad business! Say yeeees!"
Ray Ozzie and Bill did a little dance in the aisle.

NOT LAME. They have the potential to provide much more relevant experience as opposed to waiting on hold for 10-whenever minutes. Why is this form of advertising not worthy? Cause it's "new" and untested?...I'm all for "on hold 2.0"
