Copy And Paste On The iPhone

The following is a concept video produced by LonelySandwich.com demonstrating cut and paste on the iPhone. It’s a feature that’s sorely lacking on the phone; it can do so much but without copy and paste it can never really be a 100% computer replacement (although for me it’s a 75% of the time laptop replacement.)

It’s a old mockup so I don’t think it will be coming soon, but the video itself is worth watching :-)

Thanks to Matt Milosavljevic for the tip.

    Most welcome Duncan :)

That video was so funny and the idea of how to copy/paste seems acceptable.

what is the guy doing with his neck? its like he is talking with out opening his mouth, it looked very creepy.

  4. Andy

Yeah, and the mouth/jaw looks funny too when talking… is that some kind of avatar?

    Ha, “…I love you”

That was the actor from the iPhone demonstration videos on Apple’s website. Whoever made this video cut out the mouth and placed in their own. Funny video, and a good demonstration of how easily this feature could be implemented.

Do this and Apple will destroy your iPhone!

I’d rather have search in safari so I dont have to open the google cache of long pages and scroll through looking for highlighted search terms every time I want to find something

That is great. The idea. And the video. Awesome.

The “weird” effect is presumably from the overlaid mouth etc., the original face is still moving below.

I think the video highlights why cut/copy+paste isn’t on the iPhone currently (at least, not with the method shown) - it looks like a lot of work, uses “modes”, and so on.

nicely done. I would enjoy this in a future iPhone update, but unfortunately Apple is not permitted to update my iphone because they intend to delete some property of mine, my ringtones.
