twitter.pngAs mentioned last week, Twitter has now launched a new mobile tracking feature.

Users are able to subscribe to alerts based on keywords, for example a subscription for “NYC” will result in a user receiving copies of all tweets that mention NYC.

To turn the tracking service on users should IM or TXT “Track search term”. From there users can IM “whois username” to find out more about that person, or “follow username” to follow all that users updates. To turn the feature off, users simply IM/ TXT “untrack search term.”

    @1 - I love market saturation.

    I see this also as a step in the tagging direction.

    everything’s about the marketing and how to make more an more money easier than before. Twitter just gives the marketers an idea of the things that teens like to do on the Internet. And the next step is to make a new social network or some sort of startup. Besides that usage twitter is absolutely pointless to me. Total waste of time.

    Leave me alone. I don’t want to receive any more annoying tweets on my cell phone.
