I think that this idea will work because I can see the site has already started receiving more and more traffic. Anything cool like this spreads in the blogosphere like fire and as more people get their wish fulfilled, Payittome will receive more traffic.

More traffic = More wishes getting fulfilled = Their success.

Of course, you'll have a better chance of getting an advertiser response if you request something that they can lay hands on quickly and cheaply. Low-price mass-produced product, especially brand-sensitive stuff, would be good. Or how about what's often referred to as 'schwag' - the kinds of branded items that get handed out at trade shows, like baseball caps, towels, stickers, t-shirts etc.

You're probably not going to get a car out of it, but you might be able to get branded hupcaps, car stickers, fuzzy dice or even seat covers.

I'm not sure about the responses to requests for bargain basement brand items. Nike might not send you a pair of shoes, but would Dunlop?

Well, I posted mine. Or sent it in rather. Pro Flickr account, which I think is pretty humble compared to the iPhones and $1200 LCDs that people are posting. Those might work in due time, but for now I imagine sub-$100 items will have a better chance of converting. Wish me luck! =)

A big reason for the success of milliondollarhomepage is the Google pageRank that the site has. And it successfully draw all the synergy into just one page. I don't see payittome has this kind of potential since it constantly changes.

Like being mentioned above, the system can be easily gamed since it is just a middleman.

It is a neat concept though. I think it should start with a list of pre-selected products for a user to choose from, like DVDs, games and iWhatever, and go from there. There will be no prank post, and advertisers can also target better.

It is like milliondollarhomepage, only user generated. Advertisers can buy whatever is requested by the visitors to payittome and have their urls listed on the image of whatever they paid for.

Say I uploaded the image of Audi R8 and Michael Arrington bought it. So now R8’s picture will have “paid by TC" or whatever. I think that is how it works…Now, Michael you’ll pay for my R8, right? :-)

I think it works like this:

You post a picture of ANYTHING (not just something you want) with an AMOUNT OF MONEY that you want.

Then a marketer pays the amount of money that you want, and as a result, their product picture shows up on the site, along with how much money they paid to have their image listed.

So, for example, say NBC wanted to have a picture of the Heroes season 1 dvd on the page, they paid 40 dollars and there it is.

Well, I have to say, it pays to be an early adopter. This morning after reading this, I went ahead and sent in my photo for Season 1 of Heroes on DVD. I just got back from lunch and sitting in my in box is a paypal payment notification for the $40.00. So, genius idea or completely nuts, if nothing else, he'll be getting at least one more blog post out of it when I write about it in a little bit.
