Three TechCrunch40 demo pit startups got local bay area television coverage last week - Dancejam (note: I’m an investor), Realius and Gizmoz. It looks like the reporter did the easy thing - a swing by the demo pit to film the best looking startups. Congrats to all three.

awesome but a little too niche? How about offering links to clubs where one could meet up with people who can dance?

My friend email me across the country. Holy sh*t…. This could’ve been TECHCRUNCH news… Did anyone see boxer Oscar De La Hoya dress like female hooker?

He was wear high heels, stocking, female tights, etc….WFT.

Will you be doing a write up on the top DemoPit companies based on attendees votes?

We received 36 positive votes in our 12 hour demonstration!

    Cheers, Ryan

Honored to make it through the KRON edit table. There were lots of gems in the Demopit. I think you should give the world a periodic update on the Demopit companies to chronicle our progress …. and your picks. - Chuck

Congrats on the TV coverage… feels good to get featured, eh? :)

My “deadpool” site has gotten coverage on two news shows, both of which I was lucky enough to capture in online format…

Dancejam is going to turn into the next Dogster…traffic goes UP then goes WAAAAAY DOWN. These products are too niche to catch on the in the mainstream and survive to profitability. I did notice that Stomping the Yard was rented out at Blockbuster…maybe there’s hope.

And secondly, why not create a YouTube channel for dance videos? People have way too much money to waste these days.

First Learning how to break dance — and now your backing MC Hammer…… You still “can’t touch this”.

How should I categorize those three sites? entertainment? kidz software? imho, they will be more successful if they are fb apps. so ppl who has lots of time to kill can utilize them.

now, i am more curious. What are the other 600 companies that didn’t qualify tc40. are they really worse than dancejam, realius and gizmoz? if so, i am really interested to know who they are.

    impossible is nothing.

how about some videos for the presenting companies, why in the world does it take over a week to put some videos up, what in the hell are you guys doing ?

your little posts about tc40 media coverage are doing little to hide the fact that you can’t even put a stinkin video on the internet.

your complete blackhole silence on the video topic is also quite annoying.

i’m sure eventually we will see a post like “tc40 videos available, it was tougher than we thought, but we buckled down, blah blah blah”

TC40 was a miserable failure! Even you guys have admitted it, the last thing anyone wants to see is failed geeks dancing, running about, screaming and losing their minds in public!

Looks pretty good to me. I think TC is doing the startup/vc industry a huge favour.
