UK based Yuuguu will officially launch at DEMO today with a cross platform desktop sharing platform that also works on mobile phones.
Yuuguu, a name apparently derived from the Japanese word for fusion, enables users to see, share, and control other computer screens and applications. Yuuguu supports web browsers on any device, notably on mobile phones providing anywhere access and flexibility.
Suggested uses include team members working on a project or by friends sharing applications.
Yuuguu also includes low cost voice conferencing services for one-to-one and one-to-many voice calls.
This is a close to saturated vertical, and I’m tempted to say that a startup entering the space must have rocks in their head, or something completely different. Mobile desktop sharing is fairly new, however I couldn’t get it to work. Issues aside, Yuuguu’s idea is sound, with a lot of potential.

Yuuguu’s actually a great technology - dead simple and cross-platform, none of the pain of setting up simple, adhoc shared desktops you usually experience with most services or even sharing facilities built into operating systems.
Sounds great, would replace webex.
Since I want to use a technology that won’t go away, how in world do they make money since they just loose money every minute with bandwidth costs.
or is it P2P? looks like both presenter and viewer need the yuuguu skype like client…
It does sound cool, but is that enough to overcome the horrid name and even worse logo?
Why is it better than webex? What’s the big difference?
How is it different and better than WebEx

I tried looking at this site, but I can’t even get past the brutal logo. That’s got to go.
I am one of the first to try Yuuguu. It’s a great tool for sharing your desktop. Simple yet powerful. More than anything, its free. Best used with Skype, if you want voice capability. Best regards Manoj
