Possibly The Coolest Facebook Application To Date

TechCrunch UK has the details on quite possibly the coolest Facebook application to date: a customizable version of the famous music video of Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues (original video embedded below).

You enter in the text that Dylan scrolls through in the video by filling in ten boxes. The video, with your custom text, then appears on your Facebook profile.

What’s even better, it’s all done legally. The creators, techlightenment, won the account to create a Facebook application to celebrate Bob Dylan’s forthcoming single and his recent album for SonyBMG.

    you’re half right, the Dylan application is technologically awesome but the coolest one is without any doubt: “Xevster Eyesores”

    It’s the one with the most beautiful design to date and each eyesore is an small piece of art. It launched two days ago and It’s just taking off.

    Despite the fact that Dylan is an amazing artist, I am pretty sure it says something that -this- is the best that Facebook’s platform can offer us. Ha.

    You don’t have to like Dylan and you don’t have to be a Facebook member to appreciate how cool this is…and this is from a guy that hates “cool” apps that don’t generate any money.

    How to do you block @17 spam?

    He keep spamming same messages over and over again. I don’t think Mark Zuckerberg wrote that thing. If he did. He totally lose market share and highest paid salary. If this was send to VC. He would lose VC rounds.

    I heard Google and Facebook hated each other really bad. Facebook don’t agreed with Google’s Motto.

    I was reading holy bible last chapter… When you decipher the code. Facebook is evil. You can’t see it. Facebook were planning to use facebook OCR technology print on people. Facebook people search and communicate each other.

    With honesty all the facebook apps are pathetic and could be made by a high school kid. Where is the innovation for this supposed platform thats called Facebook ?

    It is a good advertising campaign - very viral, but I don’t think this can be called a cool “application” - what do you think the shelf life of this application is? What after Oct 1?

    In due course, this will be copied by other marketers and soon be as cool as the other annoying ecards.

    Showtime used the same technology, if not better, recently to promote their show dexter.
