Michael Arrington, you are already on record betting that Propeller will be gone in 356 days (9/11/2008), at this discussion: http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/09/11/propeller-will-be-the-new-netscape-digg-clone/

Are you changing your stance?

Don't tell anyone but, I heard a rumor that Propeller.com was going to end up with Google Mail as a result of that Google investment in AOL back when.

Okay, I just made this up but, pass it along anyway cause Google might actually wise up and see that Propeller actually belongs on Google with Gmail.

Acutally, I heard the only reason Google hasn't already bought Propeller is because they are afraid Jason Calacanis might come with the deal.

Okay, I just made that up too.

propeller is just the same as netscape, so far..., although i really do hope some improvements are made, e.g. : delete all messages button.

they could have spent a little bit of money on their UI i'd say. I used to read the netscape digg for quite some time and was pleased with how relevant the news was as compared to digg as well as a very responsive crowd that loves to comment. good luck.

So, which of these things has an actual connection to Netscape the company? I'm confused. It almost sounds like there was once a Netscape, which was then turned into a community-filter for news, then this community filter was renamed to Propeller? Maybe the old Netscape portal is what's going to show up at Propeller? Help.

Duncan, I actually think Propeller has a much better chance now that it is at its own domain name. At netscape they had a huge user base but they were thrown into it. Propeller has a chance to build its own base of users who come there because they want to. It should have been done this way from the beginning....

Copying? Digg just launched user activity feeds and a way to send stories to other Digg users. Which looked very nice when they were Netscape features.

So whilst Netscape practically becomes a clone of Digg, Digg makes a face lift to resemble Facebook. Interesting.

It really confusing, anyway I understand there would still be a Netscape out there, doing the Netscape stuff and the other would become a clone of Digg, Right?
