@Teesh

Thanks for the feedback. We are working to fix this extended registration flow. It is currently not one of the product's strengths.

As for the share functionality, you will *continually* see improvements and feature enhancements to this core functionality.

Please keep in mind this is an early Beta release, and we have lots of enhancements to work through!

@John Currin

BlueString is currently only available in English, but stay tuned for future availability in more languages. You were unable to register though?

Props to Robert and the team in LA for launching a really nice, intuitive product! The whole group enhancement model is quite well done. Once people get to know about some of the sweet automatic upload capabilities from your PC (e.g., never having to remember to upload photos when you sync your camera), I think they'll appreciate it even more. Also, thanks should go out to David for being such a staunch supporter of the effort.

"The product manager deserves a phat cigar! way to go."

Yes, we all know that it was the product manager who stayed late coding every night in order to have the demo ready in time.

We can forget about those pesky developers in the other hand. They are just replaceable commodities unable to produce anything valuable without the grand visions and detailed specifications of product managers and executives in general.

C'mon Teesh. You serious? A. Its a beta. B. Last 4 of your social for PW recovery is hardley a new concept. C. Reg is a pain everywhere especially giganic corp. View it for what it is. Its pretty slick for anybody and for AOL even that much more so.

ok me I'll be far - you don't *have* to leave the last four of your social, but it's sure conveniently at the top of the list of "oops, I forgot my password" security questions.

Also, the extended registration blows, who wants to take that much time to register for another one of these things if it isn't for work? The share functionality leaves a lot to be desired, and does anyone else see the potential for copyright issues cropping up left and right here?

I just signed up because I wanted to see the flex application.

It's a pretty good interface overall - you only need your mouse hand to operate it. The slideshow system is very simple and easy to figure out. It treats all media in the same way, too, so you can upload movies/images from the same place. Reminds me a lot of Slide.

However, I found the sharing interface confusing - wasn't quite sure what to click on when the "Publish" tab was selected (you need to drag, THEN click to generate the sharing link). I noticed that it doesn't handle animated gifs very well, but this may just be a limitation of flex.

Unfortunately, you need to go through 6-7 screens just to register if you are a non-AOL customer. One of the screens requires about 20 different bits of personal information from you - all compulsory. I wanted to see the app in action so I just entered fake info to get past it, but normally I wouldn't bother with that crap.

.rb,

BlueString is a media aggregator which allows you to store, manage and share your photos, music and video. Isn't StoryBlender just a collaborative video editor?

Wow, this is a great product. I've been looking for something to integrate all my multimedia content. Is it possible to get more that 100GB? I could sure use that instead of worrying about my hardrive failing and all my MM content getting lost.
