I really needed this feature over the weekend and just assumed it was there - Google usually adds search to everything else, so I assumed they had done to reader as well. Love it, however I'm glad I didn't look for it when it wasn't there - I would have thought it would be the first thing they would have included given that they insist on search and labelling rather than folders for gmail!
