Why in almost every post recently TechCrunch must mention "Facebook"?
Facebook is cool and so on, but give it a brake!

Tyler, you can even start a new channel and add blog posts, news, podcasts, and news from the other channels and publish it. Others can subscribe to it.

For eg. I have created a channel with cool surfing videos from various sources
<a href="http://www.genwi.com/channel/7585" rel="nofollow">Surfing Videos</a>.

Very interesting concept and as you stated, it is put together and organized better than Google Reader. I just signed up for an account and so far it seems pretty easy to use. I have been looking for ways not only to promote my blog but to also find other technology related blogs and feeds so that I can gain more knowledge and ideas to write about...this seems like a great way to do that.
