The Steve and Woz Lego Set

Get ready for the next mini run specialty lego set from Podbrix - this time it’s the “Young Woz and Jobs Playset” and goes on sale on Wednesday (8/29) at 6 pm PST:

Re-creating the early years of Woz and Jobs collaboration the Young Woz and Jobs Playset is a 300 unit limited numbered edition and features meticulous detail. What ideas was Jobs percolating in his subconscious back in 1972? The included mini thought bubble attempts to answer the question.

These tend to sell out quickly, so if you’re dying to have one make sure you log in right at 6 pm with your credit card in hand.

Podbrix is a three person team based in Maryland; the sets are designed by artist “Tomi.” The last set they sold was in August 2006…and these things tend to sell out in about 12 minutes. See Jackson Fish Market for more.

Does Woz come with an optional Segway?

  2. Deals and Coupons

Nice! I will definitely get one. Thanks.

Heluna - nope, since it is set in 1972. They got an iphone in, but only in a thought bubble. and that was a stretch. :-)

Great inventions start with putting the pieces together. Lego has made huge profits allowing kid around the world to do just that. My daughter love Lego but those cats might not be her taste.

TechToyCrunch.com would be a great domain for selling tech toys.
(drop me an email when the money start rolling or if you want more ideas)

running out of compelling things to write about Mike? I love it when you are off focus, Duncan must be rubbing off on you ;)

actually the legos are cool, in a VERY geeky way

    Me want one… :)

Is Woz holding a screwdriver or a bottle of liquor?

When Sun announced it would change its stock ticker name from SUNW to JAVA, and Om Malik kicked around other fun name change possibilities, I thought Apple (AAPL) should change to IWOZ, as a retro nod to the Woz and roots of Apple.

What if companies could just change for a day, like retro jersey night at ballparks. Wouldn’t that add some fun in the stock exchanges? And they could sell Tshirts.

Hey can I get a clear definition of when a site will get a ”crunchbase” link vs. a link directly to the site?

I never was into Legos as a kid, but I think I’ll buy this to put on my desk at work.

    Sold! :)

    Very, very cool product idea.

I’m surprised more people don’t do things like bulk brick buying and reselling kits.

Jobs needs a small knife, to stab Wozniak in the back with.

Lego needs to either buy this company or copy it. McFarlane toys has shown that adult targeted nostalgia toys are a big business. The Apple 1984 set is absolute gold.

Funny you should mention that - there are third-party LEGO set designers and there are ways to get bulk bricks and sets.

A site by the name of Bricklink is a network of online parts sellers, and some sell sets. Others sell parts, others make custom parts.

And if you are curious about what else is being built, or what can be built, check out BrickJournal. The online mag is about the LEGO hobby.

I saw BrickJournal, is that the one? Brickjournal.com?

That StarWars Lego set is too cool!

  15. Tom

    How much will they cost?

    I got one!!!! :D
