   unless there is an appeal to the legal decision August 15 they wont need loopholes, they are legal, although having said that I can’t see the US Government sitting quietly on the sidelines if and when AllofMP3 does start trading again.

   I’m thinking the U.S. is finding out, the judicial systems of other countries do not cowtow the the U.S. When are we ever gonna learn?

   AllofMP3 have a license that only lets them play songs for radio. Yet, they have been successful at using this license to sell songs for dirt. It’s not very difficult to comprehend that this is illegal..

   They’ll need to find a way to accept payments again. After all the major credit card companies banned them (who knew they could do that), most of my friends drifted away from the service.

   when will the US butt out of matters that they have no jurisdiction in. The US government needs a good kick up there ass for being the bitches of the RIAA/MPAA.

   I’ve lost complete faith in the Bush government and there ability to provide for it’s people.

   Even if the credit card companies boycot them, I’m sure you can pay with PayPal… mp3sparks.com, which I believe is the same company currently accepts credit cards… I don’t see how they can be taken down, US laws have nothing to do with Russian laws, and as long as they fork over some proceeds to a Russian rights management company they can still claim to be in the legal. In any case, even if they did get taken down, consumers can still find music cheap or free. I’ve noticed there’s thousands of music blogs out there that link to entire albums on rapidshare.com or megaupload.com and nobody’s so much as mentioned that! Also, consumers can easily share music with each other with these new encrypted file sharing apps, like http://www.gigatribe.com

    Stopping illegal (or barely legal) music sharing is like a never-ending game of whack-a-mole. Hit one, another one pops up somewhere else. Whack that one and two more appear behind you.

    While I don’t condone illegal music sharing because of its impact on the artists we love, I think the music industry needs to open its eyes to the possibilities around digital sharing and giving to the community a little. Personally, the more music I listen to, the more music I WANT to listen to and the more concerts I want to go to. By sharing music at cheaper prices, in easier, less contrived (ie DRM-free) ways, the music industry might just regain the respect of music lovers, finding new ways to make revenue, albeit by getting a smaller per-song revenue than in their cushy old days.

    Or, as we’re seeing, more and more artists will take matters into their own hands, cutting out the Big record companies and selling through whomever they want (ie iTunes etc) the way they want

    AllofMP3 and sites like it will be killed off when everyone in music decides that giving away digital tracks makes more sense then selling them. Take it from someone that puts money into making and promoting songs, the days when everyone is running around trying to sell tracks for .99 cents are numbered. It makes more sense to give away the songs to sell everything else. Look at the cost of making songs, making a video, creating a MySpace page, creating a website, etc, etc.. For what? to sell songs that return .69 cents of GP. It’s not worth it; it’s ass backwards from common sense. I am laying out multiple reasons why selling tracks will end - if anyone is interested. http://songboost.blogspot.com/

    “I’ve lost complete faith in the Bush government”… what does this have to do with President Bush? The RIAA and the rest of Hollywood is more in bed with the Democrat Party than anyone else. Blaming Bush for EVERYTHING is getting real old. The reality is that - regardless of who’s in power - RIAA will stand up for the companies and the industry it represents.

    14: People like that guy are too stupid to think, so they just blame bush or america as a whole (btw I don’t even support bush, I just think it’s a silly statement).

    To the other commentors saying the US should but out and has no jurisdiction, well yes they do actually. They are selling american property to americans (among others as well). Use a little common sense.

    Actually, Janko’s is mostly right. He missed one other - and more obvious site that they have up and running; http://alltunes.com the same name as the client side application that manages your music, your funds on deposit and handles the downloads.

    Allofmp3 was changed to mp3sparks. MP3spaks accepts visa because they took visa to court and forced visa to process billing from thier LEGAL site.

    Between allofmp3, mp3sparks and bittorrent I will never pay more than $1 for a CD, which is basically the true value.

    RIAA just keeps losing the legal battles.

    You Americans think you own everything. For your information only one of the 4 major record companies is American - the others are British, Japanese and German. And you might be surprised to know that other countries produce musicians and songwriters, even Russia.

    And as regards laws and jurisdiction - guess which American President is involved in an illegal war in the middle east (declared illegal by the UN!).
