YouBeQB is a new Football game playing site that will snatch up even more time from fantasy sports junkies (see Screaming Sports and FleaFlicker for examples of some of the new thinking around fantasy sports).
Watch a game on TV and play along against other players by trying to predict the next play. Users can follow professional or college games. Points are awarded for each correct play called, as well as consecutive correct calls.
John Cook has the details on investors, which include HRJ Capital (partners include Hall of Fame football players Ronnie Lott and Joe Montana, and former San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Harris Barton), Bob Whitsitt, Paul Abramowitz and Bill Savoy.

I don’t know how it’ll do, but I know how I’d do. I doubt anyone could be worse at a game like this than me. So if they have prizes for both best and worst, well, I’m in.
Cool! This kind of interactive thing is why football has gotten to be America’s most popular sport.
Sounds like http://airplay.com
I’m not a sports fan, so blahh.
Yawn.
http://www.airplay.com has been doing this across mobile phones for months now. And not just football. Other sports, the academy awards, etc. It’s also fully-realized with the ability to compare your score with friends, etc. Former TiVo CEO runs the company.
The people at yabbly have been planing to launch such a service… take a look @ http://www.yabb....com/index.html... and have partnered with Atomic Guppy

This is what NTN communications had with their QB1 platform back in 1981..before I was even born.
Agreed, sounds and looks a lot like NTNs QB1 http://players....mo_qb1_home.php
Weird…i started playing it and my wife took over. she loves it and I must say is pretty good at it! It seems simple but, it turns out there is a lot of strategy involved.
She will be playing tonight too, addicted already!
This is cool stuff… there’s also a company doing this “play by play” interactive stuff for sports other than football (eg. Nascar) and i’ve read (but haven’t played yet) that they’re doing it for reality-TV as well. LiveHive Systems (http://www.livehivesystems.com) is doing it under the name “NanoGaming”. I expect TV is going to go in this direction in a big way in the coming years.

you would think that a growing company would want their contact information on their site.
