CrunchGear 1st Birthday Bash Recap and Photos
by John Biggs on August 21, 2007

We at one of the “other” Crunch blogs celebrated our first birthday last night and we have a plethora of pictures featuring some of the New York tech scene. It wasn’t quite a bunch of tanned, attractive people partying under a fading Palo Alto sunset, but was still a party. Special thanks to all the sponsors and Blast Media for allowing us to give out great prizes — including a robotic Elvis from Wowwee.

Mike you should have put the pics on Flickr - it’s really slow running off Crunchgrear..

Looks like a great party, actually.

Thanks for putting that together, I hope everyone enjoyed the Konga Squares!

why are the photos not on flickr or photobucket at least… geeks? shoemaker anyone?

I think we’ve got a separated at birth. That looks like Ralph Macchio.

Tanned, maybe not, but I’d argue that NYCers win the attractiveness fight… ;)

because it could be the last party for the gear.

I am frequent cruncher but never been to gear inspite of the advertisement push it gets on the front page.

I want this Elvis doll haha. It’s so fantastic!!!

Yes, Velioncho, CrunchGear (a great site, btw) will fail because you personally haven’t been there yet. How do you sleep at night?

I am just reflecting the average TC user’s attitude. Accept it, CrunchGear was not a hit. just 9 comments for its 1st birthday bash post.

You know that TC readers and CG readers aren’t always the same? I hear they broke the technorati top 100 in less than a year, which isn’t bad for a blog in such a crowded market. Just because they’re not as busy as Gizmodo or (ewww!) Engadget doesn’t mean they’re not a success. I think they’re doing better than I thought they would. And they’re funnier, hater.
