Customizable home page site Netvibes released a pre-beta version of their site for the iPhone earlier today at m.nv1.netvibes.com. This version of the site doesn’t look like much on a normal browser, but it definitely does the job on the iPhone.
The already minimalized Netvibes is pared down even further for the iPhone to a single column of widgets. There are few graphics to speed load time.
I use Netvibes as a quick hit RSS reader for my most important feeds. It does an even better job on the iPhone and I plan to bookmark a special Netvibes page with the 15 feeds I read multiple times per day.
Keep a lookout on the Facebook blog this evening, too. Facebook PR says they will be announcing the iPhone version of the site shortly. Update: It’s launched.

Just in Time. I use Netvibes on a daily basis and an iPhone is on my shopping list next month. This is combo comes just in time for me.
Mike, any heads up if Pageflakes will be doing the same anytime soon?
they’d be idiots not to. A lot of these “iphone” versions are just the old mobile products in shiny new wrappers anyway.
I wish they wold enable my widgets to work thru this! I guess if they can’t control the code it’d be hard…….hmmmmm opportunity? As Netvibes and others become the new personal “portals” and we populate them with 3rd party code, doing this kind of integration gets sloppy, is it time to relook at some new “standards” with all of these new API’s?
I think its already out as reported by mashable. http://themob.facebook.com/ is going to be the URL of the iphone version of facebook.
These shiny new wrappers look a lot better on the iPhone though LOL…
I just hope that they freakin fix their web version or I’ll leave. In the past few weeks updates to feeds appear only for the tab in focus
Tiposaurus - no, that was the test link and is down now. It just launched at
http://iphone.facebook.com/
Actually, it’s up already at http://iphone.facebook.com/
Interesting that you can’t be logged into Facebook on the iPhone and the web at the same time… login to one and your session is dropped from the other.
Sweeeeeeeeet.
Great Job Netvibes.
Great Job Facebook.
Great Job…Steve Jobs.
my life is getting easier and easier with this device.
about time! thanks tariq!
http://i.popurls.mobi in case you didn’t know
Looks excellent except that my Google Calendar doesn’t show up.
So, Michael, what are the 15 sites you read everyday?
Sweet. But we still need faster internet on the phone.
Hey Guys, I should add this also works on my Blackberry Pearl with the Opera 4.1 Beta browser installed … will check more iPhone sites …
tested it and yeah, they did a good job!
like the solution without installing an app.
