If it's true, congratulations then. It is a great service. It makes blogging life easier - that is if you are a user. You have to use it to enjoy it. :)

I like Clipmarks a lot. It let's you clip important quotes and images. Its features are varied. One could clip and share or clip and blog, which I usually do.

I agree to one of the comments above that its a close-knit community over there.

I have it both in IE and Firefox. It is a quick few minutes minutes installation and that's it. No big deal.

Sorry but I like the service. :)

This is good for CLipmarks. I have used their service a lot and there are lots of good features. It is a Digg like service, yes, but Digg is hijacked by its fanatic users (only few). Clipmarks is not having any of these problems. The community is much better than anywhere else. I agree, forbes is more interested in their technology rather than site itself. But that would be good for the users.

Prior to a social networking service, Clipmarks is a great online clipping tool. It allows users to create brief excerpts from long blog posts or articles and even rearrange paragraphs, images and other parts of text. So it does something that neither digg nor delicious can do. Its community and social networking features are all around this concept (clipping) and for this reason I think it can be a unique social networking service with no real competitors!

On the plus side, the Firefox Add-On for Clipmarks makes for an ultra-useful bookmarking service, which is only very nearly matched by the official Yahoo! del.icio.us Firefox Add-On.

I tried Clipmarks a bit ago, but wasn't really impressed. This acquisition makes me want to give it a try again to see how it has been improved. Forbes must see something...or not.

I remember the post you had on crunchnotes regarding a certain CEO emailing you http://www.crunchnotes.com/?p=106 which happened to be clipmarks. Doesn't seem like so long ago. Their service has really improved since then.

Good for them! Perhaps Forbes is after their technology to apply it to their other web properties?
