irony of ironies- i am using facebook connect to connect with this blog. Other than that, i cannot access the main facebook site. Who knew that a simple upgrade to vanity names would cause the entire system to collapse. At least now I am able to concentrate on my work.

There seems to have been a major increase in page-load speed since the outage ended. Facebook pages are being generated a lot quicker - maybe this was a server upgrade?

Why the Facebook Outage Matters...

For a period of what appears to be just under two hours (10-11:30PT), Facebook was out of service this morning. TechMeme has some writers showing that it was hacked and some that it was just a service outage.
