Tailrank has less spam then digg and reddit. Hmm, maybe total less spam (because it’s a much less inviting target for spammers since nobody reads it) but I have never, ever seen spam on the front pages or second pages of any of those sites. Same for Techmeme.

It’s amazing that the site style has undesirable content appearing after all of the attention over the last 24 hours. There is still spam and porn in the entertainment tab. It could easily be manually eliminated, but obviously the Tail Rank team does not seem to care.

Tailrank has been sucking on the tailpipe of competition since day one. Burton would be doing himself and Tailrank users (most of which are spammers these days it seems) a favor putting that in the deadpool himself so he could spend his time going forward more productively.

Then again maybe Burton is into necromancy.

So what if Tailrank got broken temporarily. If that never happened to you then that’s because you never tried what Kevin is doing. I bet over 50% of the mean comments are from envious people stuffed in somebody else’s cubicles.

I hate it when people get nasty about things that really aren’t that important. “He’s just handling this whole situation very poorly in my opinion.” Wouldn’t you be somewhat defensive if the top tech blog was trying to send something you’ve been working on for months to the deadpool… I’m not saying the site doesn’t deserve it, I just think sometimes we geeks forget these are other humans we’re dealing with, not just computers. Just my 2 cents.

Saying you handle this better than Digg has got to be one of the worst comparisons I’ve ever read: I’ve never, ever seen these sorts of headlines on Digg, and then you’ve got all the sites linking in as well to boot so it’s not just the one or two exposed links on Tailrank, it was a pile of them. You cheapen your defense when you make silly inaccurate comparisons like this, by all means engage on the issue, but take a deep breath before saying you’re better than Digg on Spam.
